Energy-intensive sites differ in terms of processes, load profiles, on-site generation and technical infrastructure. That is why we focus specifically on different industries and site types: so that it becomes clear more quickly which assets are relevant, where the typical levers for flexibility lie, and which approach makes sense for your site.
Load Profile
Some sites experience sharp peak loads, whilst others have a fairly linear load profile. However, seasonal variations, differences between weekdays and weekends, and even intraday fluctuation patterns all require different approaches.
Thermal Processes
Here, a certain degree of decoupling between the energy process and the production process means there is always potential for greater energy flexibility. Whether it’s heat, steam or cooling across all temperature ranges – there’s something to be gained here.
Self-Generation
Sites that have already invested in PV systems or combined heat and power (CHP) units can make further savings through smart, integrated control systems. Sometimes, it is only through such control systems that the scope for expanding on-site generation is created.

Cold-Chain Logistics & Cold Stores
Using cooling strategically as a source of flexibility to reduce electricity costs and shift loads more intelligently.
In deep-freeze warehouses, the refrigeration system is often one of the largest consumers of electricity and, at the same time, a particularly effective lever for achieving energy flexibility. By considering thermal inertia, load profiles, electricity prices and existing on-site generation together, the system’s operation can be optimised economically without losing sight of operational requirements.

Industrial Sites with PV and BESS
Better coordination of generation, storage and consumption, rather than operating individual assets in isolation.
As soon as PV, battery storage or other on-site generation is available at a site, the greatest added value usually arises not from individual assets, but from their interaction. Only by coordinating PV generation, the BESS with flexible consumers and grid procurement can one realise the full potential, increase self-consumption, limit peak loads and better align energy management with the site’s objectives.

Logistics Sites – including EV charging
The transition to an electric lorry fleet requires more than just plans and analyses.
An integrated control system ensures that peak loads are reduced and operations remain secure. Even traditional logistics sites are becoming more complex in terms of energy management when PV, storage, charging infrastructure and operational loads – such as those from your forklift fleet – come together. By taking a coordinated approach to charging times, available grid capacity, on-site electricity generation and operational requirements, new degrees of freedom can be created for load management and site control.

How to tell if your location is relevant.
You have high or highly fluctuating electricity consumption. It becomes particularly interesting if your annual electricity consumption is 1 GWh or 500 MWh, especially if you have several similar sites.
The site has at least one of the following loads: refrigeration, heat generation (heat pumps, heating elements), other thermal processes, electric vehicles, other flexible loads or predictable loads.
Ideally, you will have your own on-site energy generation. Whether it’s a combined heat and power plant or a solar PV system, we can create added value for you through an integrated control system. Our strengths really come into their own, particularly when combined with a battery energy storage system (BESS).
You want to gain a better understanding of load profiles and prioritise cost-effective measures based on data. You either need an energy management system or approved and subsidised software, or you have realised that your current solution is too cumbersome.
